α-Synuclein is a prominent component of intracellular fibrillary aggregates in the brains of patients suffering from synucleinopathies. This protein represents a key molecular hallmark for Parkinson’s disease (PD), dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), or multiple system atrophy (MSA).
